Adw is back. You remember it right. It was the launcher that gave you your first taste of Stock Android when you noticed just how bad Sense or TouchWiz used to be. It also used to be the Launcher of choice in CM, that is before ICS came along.
Writing on the Adw Blog AnderWeb says:
It’s been a really long time without updates for ADW.Launcher, really really long time.
ADWLauncher Ex was updated “more recently“, but from now on things are gonna be different.
Since ADW/Ex 1.3.3.7, both applications share a common core, making them easier to maintain and improve. Expect much more from this, really.
I love the way he says the 7th of December 2011 is “more recently”, as of this moment that was the last time Adw Ex was updated. But since I have always had a soft spot fo Adw but more recently with the like of Apex and Nova leading the way, I personally love Nova and won’t use any other launcher these day, Adw has been left far behind as the kind of story you tell to the young ones – “Back in the old days we used Adw for our launching needs.”
The full changelog is quite impressive. I am off to give it a shot now. Here is hoping that Ex gets updated quickly as well.
